I am so sorry Jude, I was really excited to make it there. I thing
too much electronics is burning a hole in my head, as I started some times forgetting what I am not interested in & focusing
only on the things I love & that some times puts me in trouble.
If I get to see TUBEROLLER, I will send you the Ic's remover.
But hopfully next year I will get my act together.
All the fun in your meet.

[/size]Ray, I was just joking about the chip puller, man.

I'm sure I can find one that works better than the jury-rigged, pin-bender I used last time.

Don't you worry about the chip puller, Ray.

Didnt I see a post from Justin/Antness offering to send a Gilmore V2 to someone to bring to this gathering? I would love to check out that amp in comparison to the others.

Hi elrod-tom,

The Audiovalve RKV is something I would have liked to compare to the Prehead and other solid states.

But, well, there is plenty of other tube amps at the meet so it shall still be an incredible meet!!

Sorry for your loss...we're going to try to have some good mini-meets later in the year, for what it's worth.

Hello everyone:

Well, I'm thinking that we're just about ready to have quite a little event here. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm stoked!!

I think that we've got headphones and amps covered pretty well, although anyone who wants to bring any others is more than welcome to do so. The one thing that we could really use more of is (believe it or not) SOURCE EQUIPMENT and CABLES. Wadia will be providing several units, but given the variety of and amount of stuff that we've got here, it would be very nice to have some extra stuff. Please feel free to bring whatever else you might have that could help out here.

Please stay tuned for more (final) details as the day wears on. Thanks....

To help you find it, here's what Wadia's headquarters building looks like (two angles):

wadia_building.jpg

wadia_building_2.jpg

I believe the sign above the door says "Audio Video Research."

Okay, for attendance, here's the list I have:
  1. arnaud
  2. Nightfall
  3. Tuberoller
  4. reynman
  5. Mikhail
  6. scottpaul_iu
  7. elrod-tom
  8. jude
  9. kikimus
  10. btaki
  11. Gord SW Ont
  12. babykenny
  13. PUGSTUB
  14. anishbenji + possible friends
  15. arnett
  16. hemingway
  17. JohnM
If you're not on this list, but you want to come, and you know you can make it, simply PM (private message) me to let me know.

We'll have lunch right there in the building (catered by Ann Arbor's Afternoon Delight) so that we don't have to stray far from our listening (Wadia's building isn't immediately next to any restaurants).

John Schaffer of Wadia will show us 'round the place, and I believe we'll even get a chance to listen to some speaker hi-fi via their evaluation system(s) while we're there.

I hope that everyone is ready for what I think will be an excellent event!!

If anyone requires anything (e.g. more directions, questions about any aspect of the meet) prior to the meet, please PM me ASAP this morning. I will be leaving for Wadia by 10:30 AM, and will not be available via PM after that.

If you PM, please leave a phone # where I can reach you.

Looking forward to meeting all of you....

EDIT - I am now officially off the web...see you all there!!

I'm here, comin' to you live from Wadia in Ann Arbor. Thought it might be a little fun to hop in here and let you guys know what's up. Jude and the rest of the fellas (Elrod-Tom, Ken, and some other guys) are setting up all the stuff.

I'm anxiously awaiting Afternoon Delight, the deli-caterers to come in (yay, we didn't skimp on food!) to feed me.

Turned out to be a beautiful day. I'll leave it to the real Head-Fi geeks to talk about the specific equipment. To me, there are a bunch of black Wadia CD players all over the room, and some wicked looking tube amps.

I've come armed with some CDs, a pair of ears, and ready to be blown away by some serious amps and sources. Hmm.. if I have my cable I may even introduce some live pictures.
