I wonder if there would be any speakers upgrade from the Z Cinema under $250?
Audioengine A2
Klipsch Promedia 2.1?
Corsair SP2500 2.1?

Any 2.0 compact bookshelf?

I see you're in Canada. Why not patronize an excellent local company? You should be able to find the PSB Alpha B1 bookshelf on your budget. You can power them with an old receiver or an inexpensive T-Amp. Check the Stereophile review - the Alpha B1 is a fine bookshelf.

I got my parents a pair for TV use and have played some favorite discs through them. I wouldn't trade them for my floorstanders, but they would be my first choice if I was limited in budget or space.

The problem is, I have already got a pair of PSB Alpha B1 in my living room LOL
They are great speakers for the money.
I need something small for my desk, the B1 will take up about 40-45% of my desk place in terms of length, that's the real problem,
I want something about the same size as my Z cinema(satellite), the B1 is too wide for my desk, and too deep,
I am looking for a sound quality upgrade over my Z Cinema.

Hi i am no audio guru but having gambled on the Edifier 1900TII for my niece recently i am awesomely impressed and i thought i was crazy thinking M-Audio AV40 < Edifier 1900TII (maybe on par or better than AE2) < AE 5 but i see some peeps in this forums think so too so that's a comfort lol
