Using the red stuff is fine. The gold stuff is completely optional and not necessary. It's not going to make anything sound better. All it will really do is help prevent oxidization. It's more useful on constantly moving parts and cables. In the end, all it does is delay using the red stuff again. I'm sure your Little Dot isn't in the dusty outdoors either, making it even more overkill. That never stopped us audiophiles though :P

Yeah, when I saw the other one that was $25 + $10 for shipping, that was out of my price range. I mean come on, that's like ... 4 percent of my next headphone purchase! :] So I'm going with the smaller tube of the gold for peace of mind and that good ol' audiophile overkill.
