Hrmm I'd love to try this out over the weekend, but I've only got silverstone foam handy (http://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-21-Inch-Dampening-Acoustic-SF01/dp/B0040JHMH6)

My guess would be no, however. If you've got the D7000s, I'd spend the $20 to make sure it was done with the right materials.

I LOVE OP's idea for a headphone stand. I've been waiting to find something cheap and effective like this! I'm totally driving to Home Depot for one of those hose racks now for my DT990's. Thanks for the idea!

He inspired my own purchase as well. Ran down to HD and picked one up for about $6.50. And easy to put away when not in use.

I got it mixed up with that cable company from Sweden (?) that uses wood in and around their cables. Have seen them frequently advertised or mentioned on Six Moons. Bet what you got sounds wonderful!
