I'm trying to find out what you guys would pick as a better headphone, if you know of other headphones you can mention them but what i'm lookin for is quality and i like bass alot.

I hate to say it but the Beats sound a bit better. This doesn't mean that they're better headphones though, I prefer the Denon. It's about $200 less and it sounds almost the same.

I've never heard the Beats by Dre, but they are probably better than the D1001's

The D1001's cheap and aren't -that- great. (Even though I would say they are probably better than any other headphone for the price)
Surely, the beats, at $300, are better than that.

That said, the price performance ratio will be much higher with the Denons

The Denon D1000/1001 and the Creative Aurvana Live! are both the same headphones. They both cost under $100 and can easily be moded to beat the Beats. The Beats cost three times as much and if you own one on this forum try to keep it under covers because you will be laughed at. That goes for Bose too.

If you have enough enough money for the Beats, then you should consider the Denon D2000. It's currently $220 on Amazon.com.

I've had the d1000's for the longest time. I've gone through hd650's k702's, d2000's, dt880's, and the d1k's still sound quite respectable and get a lot of use outside my room, where I can't carry around a full-sized headphone and system.

Wow, your price range is all over the place.

Both of them are going to be vastly better than the HD212's

How bout you tell us how much you want to spend?
You need to decide that before you try to find the correct headphone.

If you want to be in that price range (under $40)
look into-
JVC HA RX700
Koss KSC75
Senn PX100

Ultrasone hfi 780 will be a far superior choice in that range with really punchy bass.

Thats the point! Cos they can't tell the difference. And it hints the market those brands like "Beats" targeted. If some singer wear ed9 on the go, I'll have a higher chance to buy his/her records!
