the grain and finish of the wood on those are the best I've ever seen on after market wooden cups, no joke.

In my opinion they sound better than my D5000 with Markl mods.
Both pair have the mods the differences are just the DynaXorb in the WD2000 compared to the fiberloft in the D5000 and the Apuresound V3 cable in the WD2000 compared to the stock cable in the D5000.
They are now my second most preferred headphones very close after my Edition 9.
1) Edition 9
2) WD2000 RL edition (with Markl mods) (very close to the Edition 9)
3) D5000 (with Markl mods)
4) Modded & Re-cable K340

I believe so if everything goes as planned. There is some experimentation phase on SQ improvement happening right now.
