The cable is not an issue for me. I always listen to them at my desk and just run the cable behind the desk and back to the amp. No issues.

Cable is just fine for me, could be shorter in my setup though.
 
I am more concerned about the comfort of the headband, i just dont like wearing them for long sessions because of that.
I will try to mod the headband with the bayer dynamic headband of the dt770 pro. If this doesnt work i probably try a KRK replacement head cushion or similar.
