I picked these up from Fry's today and was wondering if anyone had any info on them? Are these essentially the D1000s? While on the subject I've read a lot about build issues with the D2000/D5000. Did these issues (Denon logo coming off and screw issue) also impact the D1000s? I tried checking some of the Denon threads but I didn't come up with a concrete answer. Any help from D1000 owners would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Can anyone comment on the Build Quality of the 1000s? I've read a lot about the 2K and 5K but not much regarding the screws/decals/etc on the D1000s? Thanks!

I don't think the 1000's suffer from the same screw problem as the 2000/5000's because they don't share the same swivel hinge design.

The D1001? I'd like to see a picture of these if you don't mind. Is it some sort of upgrade from the D1000? Never heard of it.

It seems like it is the international version of the D1000. Probably uses tin solder.

I'll see if I can snag a camera. They same to be the exact same as the 1000 but they came w/ a carrying case.

I've asked a Denon-guy on the IFA about the 1001. It's just a cosmetical upgrade and will replace the 1000 in the future.

But I was much more interested in the new models (301, 501 etc.).

I have pics from the IFA...I will start an IFA-thread with impressions about anything regarding headphones from the IFA very soon with everything new (and old) from AKG, Senn, beyer, Yoga, Denon etc.

If you really can't wait to see them I can make a scan of the Denon "IFA 2007 Neuheiten" ("what's new") catalogue...

I haven't heard anything about 301 or 501 headphones. However, Denon just did come out with an AH-D550 (unless it's an older model).

The 550 is many years older model -- I had them, and still have the higher-level 950 model from 5 years ago.

Me too. I loved my 550s. Great phones, now they gone. Right driver went dead this year.

Any reason to hold off picking up D1000s until I can stop by a Fry's/wherever to pick up the D1001s? The D1001s turned up empty on google...
