Just so you know I've used the sony MDRs, and the denons are certainly a step up. Waiting for burn in is a biggie, and also rewiring is simple and makes them even better (especially for the bass) They do not block much sound at all, but I use them every day in bussy hallways and busses and its not too bad. I like to listen and take part in conversations though. For the 70 bucks on amazon its a steal.
