As some of you may know from my other thread I just recieved some Sennheiser CX300s from ebay. They came in a pouch but have a silver 90 degree plug so I guess they're in between truely real ones and fake ones. They sound pretty good but I have no comparison to make with them. My choices are:
1. Keep these CX300s (paid $30)
2. Buy Creative EP-630s (about $28)
3. Buy New authentic CX300s ($55)
4. Buy V-Moda Bass Freq earphones: http://reviews.cnet.com/V_Moda_Bass_...-32098286.html
($55) These are new so I don't know if anybody's tried them yet.
5. Other reccomendation for around $50 + or - (please say what)

Are there any differences between the CX300 and the EP630s besides the cord stlye and plug? I noticed that the stats are slightly different but everybody seems to agree that they are the exact same.

If you looking for IEm spefically, then I don't have any choice. But if your options are open, then I would suggest to go with either KSC-75. I got mine for $6.99. Price doesn't relate to the SQ of KSC75. This phone is worth of $50 IMO.

So what's the problem? Are you unhappy with them? If you're really thinking of shelling out for the non-OEM ones, then you should only buy where you can return them again, in the eventuality that they sound exactly the same.

I am unhappy with the fact that I paid $30 for what was promised as 100% authentic CX300s and turned out to be fake. I bet the real ones sound better, which is what I paid for. I can get EP630s for even less than I paid for fake CX300s which is why I'm asking: is there any difference between the EP630s and the CX300s in terms of sound? Also, could it be that the fake CX300s with a gold straight plug could acually be the EP630s but rebadged as Senn.?

If the iM616 is anything like the iM716 is in Bass Mode, it'll have some crazy bass for an armature IEM when you use the foamies. It won't be quite CX300 (dynamic) levels, but it will be awesome for an IEM at its price point and without a doubt more clear, refined, and articulate in the lower end.

Wow, do a search, there are a lot of threads on this issue. I wouldn't worry about authenticity so much, since even the "real" ones of these headphones are all produced by the same company. But definitely try something else so you can set your mind at ease about whether you've made a good gamble.

Just ordered a pair of EP630s off Amazon for $30, which is $2 more than they were yesterday

. I hope I don't regret trading my fake CX300s for these.
