Hi, I listen to lots of music at my computer when doing homework or surfing the web. I need a computer desk. I prefer one that provides adequate leg room for a tall guy (I'm 6'4") and a keyboard tray wide enough to fit my MX Duo (mouse + keyboard). The cheaper the better, but it must be somewhat nice and practical.

Any recommendations?

There are a few different kinds, but check out the Jerker desk at Ikea. You can raise or lower the entire desk area on the model I have, it's the one with the book shelf above. Pretty sure it's in your price range too...

Any chance you guys could post pics of your setup? If so, I'd appreciate it.

I really would like one that is sturdy, but not extremely heavy. I'm going to be moving in a few months and don't want it to be a royal b!tch to move. Here's a link to my previous desk, which was complete and utter trash --> http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/st...roductId=87094

Seconded! I have the same desk, and quite like it - lots of space for my laptop and all the books and notes I have out when doing homework. No keyboard tray, though, but you can add one yourself if need be.

While at Ikea look at their regular tables, they make great computer desks and cost next to nothing. The Jerker is pretty decent too.

That's the one I got, and I love it!

So the Jerker is good? How sturdy is it? And the height it totally adjustable? Is the desk made out of particle board?

One thing I may not like about the Jerker is that all the cables and wires of my electronics will be easily viewable. That can get quite annoying.

It's very sturdy; doesn't wobble or bend. The heights of both the desk and the self are very adjustable, but both are screwed in to the frame, so you can't easily change it once it's been set up for the first time. And I believe the desk and shelf are made of particle board - although there's nothing exposed, they're both very heavy.

I sort of had the same problem with mine with cables and such, but they don't bother me when they're beneath the desk, and the ones on the shelf (I have my stereo up there) I've managed to route down one side of the frame.
