December '07 Giveaway - Three-way for Christmas!
Dec 6, 2007 at 5:52 AM Post #151 of 190
just saying he didn't specify it was a case sensitive entry... then again since it's not a randomly generated number and winners are chosen subjectively complaining about not having a chance at something i wouldn't have won anyway wouldn't help my chances... i don't win anything... not even a $25 best costume prize at work... and i put more money and effort into my costume than anyone else

I would like to thanks Asr's for his awesome generosity again & again this year even if I don't win this wonderful giveaway. Those nice giveaways are the main reasons why Head-Fi is such a unique community to be in.

I don't see this mentioned in the OP?

I mean I'm not going to argue about it, it being your [very generous] contest, but when did you specify this?

it's true! I'll give it some thought. Not sure I have time to do it this month, but maybe next month.

Apologies for the delay, I've been preoccupied with other things recently.

I'll announce just 2 of the 3 winners:
#57 - blueice
#40 - arnoldsoccer4

These two guys have been contacted and have 24 hours to respond before I move on to their runner-ups. The third winner has not been contacted and will not be contacted directly or announced, because if I did, he would almost definitely know which prize he'd be receiving, which would lose the element of surprise. So in order to maintain the mystery I've contacted someone from his feedback thread.

I'll give the third winner a hint though, he entered on page 2 (post numbers 16 through 30).

All three winners were picked based on the equipment listed in their profile - not due to any threads they may have posted, or their length of membership on Head-Fi, or their post history on Head-Fi, etc. I am going to say I found several people deserving of each prize and it was a tough decision splitting hairs between the final three or four on each prize. The winners were specifically selected based on the equipment they own and the prize's potential to be maximized as much as possible in their system, taking into account scaling as well.

In the decision-making process I also gave preference to either students (high school or college) or those in the student-age lower-income bracket.
