One of my drivers died and Panasonic wants $88.26 plus shipping & taxes to replace it. Too bad the price just went up to $89.99. And I also missed a $25 off J&R deal through Borders that was only good for a limited number of people.

this are probably fakes, else why it priced more then half price what they are worth in Japan? It us usually the opposite, the imported audio priced higher outside Japan.

It's very odd, as apparently the US version also brings higher quality cables, but that's the way it is! The Japanese version does bring way fancier packaging though =P. These would be the best fakes ever, though, if they were.

75 Dollars now at J&R! Idk what's going on with these folk changing the price every other day XD. This is the lowest price I've ever seen these at. It's almost as if they're trying to get rid of them. HJE1000 coming? (I wish =P)

Maybe they are getting rid of stock for something new

I paid $80 for mine used with a good amount of time so don't have to burn in as long so I'm happy with the price I paid. You should pick up a pair if you wanted that backup one

Lol I was thinking of going on a bit of an IEM spree next week, ordering the Thinksound TS02 and picking up an MC5 at J&R, which would seem to round out my sound signatures a bit. It just somewhat baffles me that my beloved HJE900s are going for cheaper than either of them right now =P

GAH IT WENT BACK UP!!!! should i wait for it to go back down to 75? and how are these compared to the MC5s? listen to mainly classical, rock and hip hop..... or anything better in the sub 100 category?

You might be waiting a while for it to go back down to $75.  The Panasonic ones have a lot more bass than the MC5s and if you listen to a lot of hip hop then the Etys might not be what you are looking for.  They are great for classical music though.  You should look into FA Silver Bullets and Eterna.  Also, Hippo VB are good.

Which out of those that you just recommended, would you say has the best OVERALL sound quality? i think its undisputed that the HJE900 is the best out of those for rock and hip hop but how is it for classical?

but it's good that you say they'll go back down
