l'll let you know if things work out well for me. Again, thanks very much!
Hi there,
(This is completely unrelated to this thread but l hope it helps a fellow Headfier down the road.)
Just want to comment on my experience using a '
step-up converter to power up my amp (US 120V to EU 220-240V)' in case a search engine takes someone having my same issue to this thread.
Following
@Svperstar suggestion, l got a 2000W step-up converter from a brand called Vevor and a 'Wireless Outlet Power Switch' (see attached pictures).
l've been testing the converter with my
Audio-GD Reference 10.32 and my
Sony TA-FA5ES (both working at the same time) and so far so good. This specific converter does not make any noise neither does it get hot or even warm after 4-5 hours of use (room temperature anywhere between 25-30ºC / 77-86ºF).
More importantly, the converter '
seems to be safe' to operate (your EU plugs will much the converter's socket for a ground safe).
My experience is limited to a week of use (2-5 hours of usage per day) so this is only anecdotal, yet a 2nd data point (if we also consider Svperstar own positive experience with the converter).
If you happen to have an EU amp and want to use it here in the US, this converter from Vevor seems to be a good starting point (we'll see how the unit performs a year from now, etc.).
l hope this helps!
