I had a great time at this meet! It was smaller than the previous ones, but I think the result was that people were able to have better listening sessions and discussions.

The estat table! It was very cool to have all of these estats together with top-tier amps to run them! Thanks @Svperstar

I quite enjoyed the HD800S on this setup! I feel like I've tried to enjoy the HD800S for a long time and haven't gotten a good setup for it. On this one, the 3rd party earpads plus the chain made the HD800S not have the soft bass response I've heard in the past nor the timbral distractions stemming from its various treble peaks. All while retaining the signature soundstage. Thanks for pulling me over to try it out, @VanHai and for lending me that USB plug adapter!

Great meetup! Good to see everyone and hear some phenomenal gear. Those e-stats were something else, and of course Menkau-ra's Tungsten, as well as Ruck's latest prototype. Looking forward to the next one (and I'll be sure to bring my HE-500 out for it!).
HE-500 🙏

Want to know something crazy? My hotel is to the right in this picture. I was leaving the hotel when they had first responders there blocking half the exists so I had to leave around back

Glad I went to the meetup, Friday night I drove down to DC and went to the Lincoln Memorial, White House, drove by the Capitol.

Next time I come I think I am ONLY going to bring estats, I think I will bring my KGSSHV Carbon, Blue Hawaii, and Stax 717 or Topping EHA5 and wire everything so they can all be listened too at the same time. The Blue Hawaii is an excellent estat amp but the Carbon just brings that little extra.

I wanted to get the Stax X9000 get measured out of the Blue Hawaii but my table was so popular never got a chance to get it measured, also spent too much time with the X9000 that I forgot to listen to the L700 mk2 out of the Blue Hawaii. Oh well.

Didn't realize the Mod house Tungsten Double Magnet was going to be there. Listened too it out of a speaker amp.

The Tungsten did a great job playing my favorite bass test track:

Might have been the best bass I have ever heard in a headphone but a noisy meetup and only 10 minutes listening wasn't enough time to really make a solid opinion.

Also the Dan Clark E3 is by far the best closed headphone I have ever heard...............I was having a conversation with someone with it on and didn't realize how loud I was talking lol. The isolation is great.

There is just something about Dan Clark headphones and how they feel in your hands and on your head. They are like nothing else.

I should really get a pair for my collection.

Thanks for bringing the HD800. I always wanted to check them out. On my SGP1 it was a stellar experience, probably bigger holographic soundstage than my HD800S.

And what was that Blue Hawaii estat energizer?

I love the HD800 with no mods, hence why I removed SDR mod it came with.

The Blue Hawaii BJT is an upgraded version of the original Blue Hawaii from years ago. Specifically made to drive the Stax 007. I am not a builder but he explained it has some upgraded modern components compared to the OG schematics.
