thank you for the quick reply @iFi audio , what if I connect the dc ipurifier 2 to the 12v 8A dc supply? Will it get burnt? Or it just doesnt work? Please elaborate thank you.

In short, fuses inside the product can hold a total current rating of 6A, so with 8A they will trip. One of internal components may also run hotter than normal.

Which Ifi power supply is recommended for Pi2AES?
When I had mine I used the iPower X to very good effect, I never had the elite at that time so I can't comment on any sonic differences there may be.

I can say this, many folks say they can hear sonic differences between the two units, so if there is any way for you to audition both your ears may be able to perceive a difference. It may be possible to get both from a retailer with a "No Questions Asked return policy" to make this a bit easier on the wallet in the end.
