Darkvoice Figaro?

I'm looking for an amp for DT770/600, really the only thing i'm concerned about is zero sibilance, which I experience quite a bit of with several SS amps i've tried. I've read that tubes don't have this issue. If this is the case I think I'll go ahead with the Figaro, if not the 336i.

thanks.

But the somewhat harsher highs of a cheaper solid state, (such as the headfive I'm using with MY DT770/600s) certainly don't help. A smooth, quality tube amp that could handle the load that the 600's have would most likely alleviate the sibilance.

Cheap solid-states tend to sound harsh on high volumes.
An amp with which stock Beyers(770\880\990) will show no sibilance - is a fundamentally flawed amp, with terrible rolled off highs. Of course quality amp will smoothen things to some degree, but completely no sibilance isn't an option.

After reading this thread I've decided to get a Darkvoice headphone amp.

Just some advice, they're going for £110 on ebay (plus £40 p&p), which voltage do I want for the UK?

Also I was dissapointed they don't work well with Grados as that is what I wanted to get. Any advice for headphones within the £100 - £120 range that would go well with this amp?

Thanks for the advice, any other recommendations for this amp appreciated so I can do some bargain hunting.

Hmm seems like the Figaro is suited for darker sounding headphones, not a match for my AKG. I tried emailing Head-Direct today, they told me they couldn't stock the Figaro since it has been discontinued. Oh well ahaha *goes off for more amp hunting*

Kind of interesting that i hit this thread looking for info on Figaro, considering i am also looking at DT-880 right now again.
Is every DT-880 owner that bought the Figaro still happy with it?
