Just arrived today:
Falkenbach - Heralding the Fireblade
Behemoth - Chaotica
Ulvhedin - Pagan Manifest

This new Falkenbach is really great viking/pagan metal, previous albums were really good but this maybe best of the lot, complete package vocals music etc, very worthy

Quorthon gives his approval from the halls of Valhalla.....

If anyone one is intersted in early Behemoth grab that "chaotica" 2CD set before it is gone at The End, very hard to find and very cool digipak. Collects two early albums when they were firmly in the black metal camp, last few albums have moved them into melodic death metal. It is next up in CD stack will comment more soon.

CD1 - Storms to Unleash
Collects 3 recording sessions in 1994 with 16 tracks, remastered sound and non album tracks included........classic era black metal for troo kvlt nekro warriors in the same style as early Satyricon, Gorgoroth, Marduk etc dark cold grim norse BM.

CD2 - Thunders to Erupt
Collects 3 more recording sessions from 1995-97 with 13 tracks, features later mature style black metal. Behemoth eventually transforms to a melodic death metal style later with 1999 Satanica album

The End has found a devilish way to seperate me from my money......

When you pull up page with CD you want to buy underneath they often list 2-3 other Cds they recommend you try......many times they are unknown to me and get me curious. This happened just recently when I purchased new Falkenbach CD they recommended: Ulvhedin - Pagan Manifest

Never heard of them before, but there was a music sample that sounded good so in the shopping cart it went. Listening to it right now and it is great stuff, very complimentary to Falkenbach and will appeal those listeners who love pagan viking style.

Waiting for Dornenreich - Hexenwind to arrive.

I got that Peccatum album last year but was not really thrilled with it, not my cup of tea. A strange brew for former Emperor band member Ihsahn with some chick doing doom folk and avant dark metal.......anyway perhaps you will like it better than I, some people really like it.

As for Penumbra - Seclusion it is pretty good but I much prefer thier previous album Last Bewitchment, new album a bit of let down for me.

I liked that Peccatum album a lot, though I don't think anyone finds that surprising, hehe.

Placed order yesterday at Dark Symphonies, they recently got many dark metal/pagan albums from little known Ukraine and Russian groups, there is a ton of quality stuff coming from Ukraine/Russia/Balkans now that harkens back to the golden era of the ancient nordic masters........somehow DS seems to have good source for these and prices are reasonable.

Only trouble is trying to find some music samples to see what you are buying, here is what is incoming:

LUCIFUGUM - Vector 33 (I have all previous albums, thier latest)
GOLIARD - Artissimae Tenebrae
SINFUL - Omut
MIDNIGHT SCREAM - Evil Her (greek dark metal)
HOLY BLOOD - Waves are Dancing

Anyone have any of these?

Really not too bad, but the production is a bit on the bright side.
I found Nocternity to be one of the better Greek bands.
