Darkest Desires PART THREE

Did you get the "order recieved" email yet?
I got one for what I ordered and I won't know if I'm getting the Dimmu Borgir Military box or not for 3 weeks unless it shows up on my doorstep earlier than that.

I am not impressed, that is why I didn't go back for the sale.
That and I spent all my money on that box, if I really spent any money at all.

damn, $80 for a cd? Is that Dimmu Borgir album really that good???

The End has the insane DIMMU BORGIR - Death Cult Armageddon JOURNAL EDITION which I belive is included in the Military box version.

DIMMU BORGIR - Death Cult Armageddon JOURNAL EDITION

Weighing in at an amazing 3 lbs Dimmu Borgir's cataclysmic 2003 release comes here packaged in a metal journal. With expanded artwork emblazoned on metal pages, this journal is a must have for fans and collectors. Includes bonus track, a cover of Bathory’s “Satan My Master”

Price: $57.00

I must say the marketing blitz for Dimmu DCA has to be unprecendented for this genre............how many special edition releases can they make, he he. Plus all the shirts and other merchandise

About time to release career anthology 2cd release like COF did last year with "lovecraft"

PD
Why did you get that super expensive Dimmu military box set?
Didn't realize you were hardcore Dimmu fanatic.

Believe or not, they did the same thing for their last album "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia", and this all started with Cradle of Filth and their Dusk album, there were many versions of that one, including the famous Coffin Box version. There were others and each had a different extra track or tracks and some had none. The one I have is the Japanese import with all 3 extra tracks.

Extreme metal has always been on the cutting edge of graphic design.

I really like this album, and I did order some more Dimmu albums at Century's sale, I already had PEM and EDT. I ordered For All Tid and Stormblast.
Unfortunately I forgot I wanted to get the new Moonspell album
frown.gif

I'll have to order it from The End later with this years Children of Bodom release.

I also ordered the new Zyklon CD Aeon. I read about it in Terrorizer.

Top 30 Melodic Dark Metal 10/2003
In order of preference, one listing per group

1)Cradle of Filth - Dusk & Her Embrace (most COF Cds are great)

2)Opeth - Morningrise (all Cds are essential except Damnation)

19)Katatonia - Brave Murder Day (also December Souls)

What? thats the gayest list i've ever seen, brave murder day should be first in the list, followed by morning rise. and cradle of **** shouldnt even be in the list. inflames? more like n'flames.

Cradle of Filth should always be near the top, except Damnation and a Day. I prefer Cruelty and the Beast over Dusk and Her Embrace, but that is just me.

Isn't In Flames played on the top 40 radio stations?

I must be gay then because the more I hear COF the greater thier artistic dark majesty grows
very_evil_smiley.gif

(seems their best work is behind them however)

Terry
Post a list of your top 10-20 dark metal.............good for discussion purposes.

*Idly wonders how one determines the sexual orientation of a list*

As long as the discussion just turn into some of the dredge I've seen on "Ultimate Metal".

now, now boys let's keep it civil here.

Cradle of Filth's The Principle of Evil Made Flesh, V Empire,
Dusk... and Her Embrace and Cruelty of the Beast are great metal albums, IMHO. They started to go downhill with From the Cradle to Enslave, and Midian just doesn't have the staying power of the above albums and I am bored by it now, I can't listen to it anymore. Bitter Suites To Succubi was the last straw for me and I never brought anything from them after that and I never will.

In Flaming is a pop band now, but that's ok since they have always sucked
wink.gif

But, that doesn't make them gay, just really lame. Now, Judas Priest, now they are gay, but not lame

Too bad Moonspell "wolfheart" is not PLP, would also look really cool if they centered artwork properly.

What art work does your copy of Wolfheart have? I have one that is kinda boring, just a close up of two dogs (wolves?) fighting against a plain white background. Which is listed on Moonspell's site as the artwork for the digipak, but mine is a jewel case.

At Moonspell's website the artwork looked dark, and pretty.

I wish mine looked like this. My white CD artwork is carried all the way through the booklet and onto the CD it self.

Okay, I just ordered a few CDs from Blackmetal.com
MOONSPELL The Antidote +BONUS VIDEOCLIP
CHILDREN OF BODOM Hate Crew Deathroll
ARCH ENEMY Anthems of Rebellion *(import!) +Bonus DVD-Audio DOUBLE-CD DIGIPAK
and
DIMMU BORGIR Alive In Torment (shaped disc) ,
I developed a love for shaped discs after getting an AC/DC Cover You in Oil shaped disc
biggrin.gif

I considered a Death CD but couldn't find a sound sample to listen to. They didn't have a Nockturnal Mortum in stock or a Lacuna Coil. Not even a Dissection
frown.gif

I mulled over Edge of Sanity Crimson II but just wasn't sure I would like it.

Yes KR,
That is the version I own..........The End had supreme version when "wages" first came out. The bonus CD is excellent with 6 solid music tracks of high quality (without the dark enchantress Angela Gassow)

Also this was on my recent greatest dark metal ever list posted here, rated #16

WAITING, WAITING............for my Century Media mother lode to arrive (hope they didn't sell out any my selections)

PD
I like the old original "wolfheart" artwork
