I will use IEMs with it (sennheiser's IE80 probably)
i will need to use it on the road...
tried using my Galaxy S 2 (i9100) with the JVC IEMs, and something was missing.. so i realized i need an external DAP.

isn't the HM-601 has the best DAC ?

thanks for your replies!

Purely on sound quality alone and having owned three of your choices I rate them like this..

Colorfly C3
Cowon C2
Clip+

For a flat setting C3 has upper advantages over both, especially in instrument separation, soundstage width and dynamics. The Cowon can compete when using enhancements though won't exactly meet the C3 side by side. And the Clip+ well has average detailing depth low separation skills compared and ......well I thought it was cool before trying other players.

Clip+ is kind of a benchmark for audio here, I beileve everyone should have one but not necessarily use it. :p

My vote goes to C3 unless you want to tinker with EQ then a C2.

Does Colorfly C3 support 24 bits/192kHz audio files such as FLAC, WAV, APE & AAC?
For battery life in actual use, does it last more than 10 hrs if the volume is set to 50%?
Does Colorfly C3 allow bypass its internal amp by line output?

C3 supports 24bit WAV only.

WAV:32-48KHz 8-24bit
FLAC:32-48KHz 16bit
APE:32-48KHz 16bit
MP3:8-320Kbps
WMA:8-448Kbps

You will achieve 15-`18 hours from a single charge, volume goes up to 40/40. Running 24/40 (average) I achieve the stated hours. (run time is actually good for this player)

There's no line out, only headphone out. (no bypassing of the internal amp)

Can you suggest other good sounding DAPs but support 24bits FLAC & AAC and has line out?

Your desire for 24bit FLAC limits your choices. I only know of one player that currently plays it. ibasso DX100.

If there are others I don't know of them sorry.

Im new so forgive me if i speak outta turn, but isnt the Astell and Kern AK100 the best option, all be it an expensive one? 32gb internal with 2 expandable slots of 32gb, plus 24 bit FLAC to boot? Im a digital hoarder so something with some beefcake is more up my alley.

Nope, that device is seriously flawed....
