Please help me decide on the color combination.

I've been wanting to try a Ray Samuels amp ever since the Hornet was released...must have P-51.

My Yo Tank case for my iPod is Black and I like the look of all Black as I now have with my Pico and XM5 portable amps but I think I want a change from that for my new amp.

My favorite color is dark purple and Ray offers a Wine color which seems pretty close based on his website photo. I also like a Red/Black combo as well as a Blue/Grey combo...as follows:

Wine ( my variation would be a Gold colored volume knob)

Red/Black

Blue/Grey

Black

I can't believe how much this amp changes with burn in. I have 250 hours on mine and I guess from reading other post it will only get better with more burn in.

For Me the only choice was the Clear/White, because I can't stand the Gold Silkscreening featured on all colors besides Clear/White & Gold/Brass, which has Black Silkscreening. And since I don't like Gold/Brass, it was Clear/White w/Black Knob for Me, which I am very happy with.

I hate boring. Life is too short to worry if the next guy is going to like it (resale). If I ever have the choice, it's anything except black, white, silver, grey or brown. Same goes for my cars which are Monaco Blue and Montego Blue. Okay, I'm partial to metallic blues! I applaud Ray Samuels for giving the choice of some outstanding colors.

You Black voters do have a point about resale but I'm not worried about that too much. If I could find a used Black P-51 in great condition I'll probably go with that...anyway, buying a new Black P-51 would save me $25 over a combo but I'd rather pay the extra if I could ever decide.

I did have a clear/white AE-2 that looked great but it also matched my case for my other iPod.

I bought mine black body/red plates/brass knob. I don't think it would affect resale too much honestly, considering how good this amp is and everyone wants one

I do like the look of that blue/silver tho, feeling a bit of regret now

The amp sounds great and is fun. I would get a color that is fun to have. You can still hear at 42? Wow.

Just kidding since I am a bit past that, by 17 years, gag.

Anyway, I would go with a color that says the type of music you like.

I also vote for red/black but would go for a black body and red front/end
