Hi!

Does anybody have any experience with this DAC? I saw it today on eBay and it looks very interesting especially due to Wolfson chip.

DAC WM8740 4.0 Wolfson up-sampling 24bit/192KHz USB - eBay (item 220492050885 end time Oct-18-09 09:20:20 PDT)

Audio GD has DAC with 4 or even 8 DAC chips I think

The listings are gone now. With a few exceptions, I wouldn't concern yourself with what DAC chip is used. The 8740 measures relatively badly compared to a lot of other chips, going by its spec sheet, so I wonder sometimes what the big deal is.

Bringing this back to life out of personal interest.  I've seen it on ebay and I'm currently debating picking one up as a new dac.  The guys over at diyaudio have a small thread going on it with some opamp options.  If I decide to purchase in the next week or so I'll post impressions.
