I´m looking for alternatives to my Lampizator Baltic 4. I listen to a lot of Jazz and Electronic music and would like to find a dac that can handle electronic music better then my Baltic and still do a good job with acoustic music, timbre etc, I don’t want to loose the organicness. Is this possible in the 13k range?

On my list on dacs that are interesting and that I haven’t auditioned yet: Rockna wavedream, Tambaqui,
Holo May, B.audio B.dac, Weiss dac and Aqua La Scala.

What would you’re suggestions be?
I don’t know if it really matters but I will mainly be using this dac in my speaker setup.

Grateful for your help.

My observation will be limited for your purpose but I did own the May L3, Weiss and now own the Rockna Wavedream signature balanced. I think you will lose a touch if the organic aspect with the Weiss. The Kitsune edition of the May is great but I preferred the Rockna because it had the smoothness and organic aspect which the best R2R give you but it had a touch more impact which I liked for electronic, new wave, ‘80’s, etc.

You may get more responses in this thread if you say what you're missing specifically with Electronica in your current dac.. + what you really love about it with Jazz that you wouldn't want to lose. :)

rockna wavedream signature balanced is the best dac i've heard for electronic ( its my main genre of music and ive heard alot of dacs in my own system), its also incredible with real music like jazz but wont be the absolute best as timbre is not its stongest aspect but it still an incredible experience.

i agree theat the Wavedream Signature Bal is great with that. But is out paced by the Playback Designs MPD-8. It was in the top of my list with MSB Premier and MPD-8.

At this level its very much preference and depends on what your preference is and what you prioritise in a dac.
