@FiiO

Found another issue.

Early last week, I connected my unit to Wifi just for it to sync with the correct time. Disconnected to Wifi as it was just a Guest network.

Today I just notice that the time on my unit was running 1 hour 10 minutes in advance! Unit has stayed on standby for the duration and not connected to Wifi. I had to connect the unit again to Wifi for it to sync to the correct time again.

Please include in your investigation/fix.

To give an opinion from other side of coin.

I will say that after having mine for 3 weeks now. I haven’t experienced any bugs. I have used streaming options but was able to use a LAN connection as I try to avoid WiFi when possible regardless of the device. One of big selling points was it had LAN. Also I have been switching from using it as a Line Out versus just an all in one amp with zero issues. Maybe I am just adjusting gain in advance for the headphone I plan on using. I have 2 USB-C’s plugged in from my Mac Mini M4. One to control PEQ using Mac Store FiiO app and other to output to DAC. No issues with any of my experiences and just loving this unit.
Fair enough. Iim more likely to use both wired and wireless connections so it's important to me.

Anyone had a choice to poke around the PEQ in K17? How is it? My use case is to do headphone EQ for ethernet streaming. I am currently using JRiver to apply EQ through configured DLNA server in streaming setup. It works but not very straightforward. It would be nice to skip software EQ and just let the K17 handle it.

Dear friend,

Hi,
1. What's the main controller firmware version of your K17? You could check from menu-about K17.
2. You disconnected the Wifi but did not turn off the K17?
3. Are you located in Singapore now? If not, which country are you located in?
The engineer tried to test in same condition but did not reproduce the phenomenon.

Best regards

@FiiO
Is there any response to these VU meter issues?
Can we expect to see VU meter support for USB input and a fix for the choppy refresh rate? Im fairly certain Gadgetrytech reported the same issue
Dear friend,
Hi,
1. About the display effect problem with VU meter, the engineers have learned. They will try to improve in later firmware update.
2. Currently, VU meter is only supported for streaming and local playback modes.
Best regards

1. SOC: V104, MCU: V75
2. Yes, it's disconnected from Wifi. The unit was OFF (Red power button light).
3. Singapore

Just grabbed one from my local distributor. So far, so good. Nice powerful sound. Couple steps above from K9 PRO AKM in terms of clarity and resolution. DSP EQ works flawless in Win11.

How good is the PEQ when compared to software EQ like Equalizer APO?
Is it true lossless as FiiO advertised?

Is the volume reduced when you apply the EQ to prevent clipping?
The volume should not be reduced if it's lossless.

Hello! I think it's pretty good. I used to use APO/AQUA. I feel the FiiO EQ DSP more precise, less edgy compared to APO. And yes, the DSP does not lower the volume when applied. Tested with PCM 44-192 Hz and DSD64.

Cheers!

EDIT: I don't know what is this for:

Maybe a stupid question but if it doesn't lower the volume, is there a way to compensate and reduce clipping? Does it have a global gain you can adjust to compensate for boosts and prevent clipping?

Another question: I see on you picture EQ:Custom 10, can you rename each EQ profile so it shows a custom name?

Thanks!

Hello. FiiO PEQ DSP don't have pre-gain adjustments. I don't know how the app compensate to prevent clipping. With HE1000se, at high gain and volume at 50 (pretty loud already) theres no clipping. There's no option to rename custom profiles.

Cheers!
