From time to time "turbo" D25s are mentioned - I've searched the forum, but I still don't have a clear picture of what these modifications are exactly. What I've gathered so far is:

- upgrade PS caps
- replace OPAMP in servo control (somewhat dubious)
- modding the digital section (piggyback a second PCM66 and put them into single channel mode? Has anybody actually done this?)

any corrections/additions/comments/experiences?

Hirsch will indeed be posting a review of this (trans)portable. A few other Head-fiers have also heard it over here, and like it a lot.

I'll give an initial pre-review teaser, and say that it's a significant improvement over the stock D-25s, and one of the top pcdp's I've heard.

The main units I'm comparing it with are the Denon DCP-150 and the Sony D-303.

Review coming soon...

Hullo,

Very interested in this thread too. Is it viable for a fellow Head-fier who has done this mod to do my D25s? I am a solder and electronic dummy when it comes to DIY mods, unfortunately... no experience whatsoever.

I know one of the major factor for me is that I live in Australia... But I would still be open to negotiating an overseas mod via shipping etc.

THnks!
