Thanks... i just pm'ed him... i hope he's alright with my noobie questions lol...

btw, I used blu-tacks to stick my rig together.. it holds up extremely well and solid.... just thought of sharing this cause i don't think i've seen anyone used them before here..

OK, now we go into uber tweak mode! When I live in the UK and had a home set up I used to use blue tac under my speakers as a divider between the stands. It improved the sound noticeably so then I put lumps under my CD player on my HiFi stand and yet again improvements, subtle this time but they were there..Just wondering if the same will happen separating the solo/amp/classic :D

I was passing a small HiFi store here the other day and saw blue tac so will pop by and get some and report back!

blu-tack has been used for a number of things on here (plugging holes and damping micro-tubes comes to mind). Yours is a good use. The material that I am using to separate my rig components is less than 1mm thick and is working well.

Thanks. Yes, I seem to have gotten carried away on the cable side (and blame nc8000 immediately below

).  It's TWcu.

Another qusp job I think

Indeed. I first contacted qusp about an IC for my Solo because of your positive comments on here. Somehow that has cascaded into three cables.

I am richer for the experience. Jeremy is also richer.

They are really nice additions to my rig.

Nice. I saw someone else have that set up (iPod, CLAS, Slim) and they 'side-mounted' the amp, which looked pretty tidy IMO.

Thanks. Actually that was my Sidewinder config which I used for a while. It looked cool but the way I had it held together wasn't especially solid. It also found it to be a bit wide. For my purposes, I prefer my stack. (But please feel free to revisit and perfect it!)

Making the Solo ergonomic is a fun challenge. I hope that people will keep posting pictures of their rigs.

I can't really comment on whether there is a sound improvement with the tacks or not.. to me it was merely for holding the whole rig together.. I can say it does a very good job... I can actually do without the bands at all.. making it even slimmer... but the bands help serve as a bumper protecting the rig and also they look cool lol... I ordered some bands that glow on ebay.. should look even better!

btw the other day i was riding my motorcycle with my rig... i left my rig on my bike's basket in front.. when i was riding, i could here digital noises/jitters that was in sync with my bike's revs.. like something's emitting from my bike's ignition or some sort, and my rig was picking everything up.. it was very weird... any comments?

btw my motorcycle is actually a scooter.. which explains the front basket LOL!

Ha. I'm personally starting to slide towards the Fostex device just because it already has the amp (although I think I'd want to add a small external battery pack). Want more reviews though!

I think the biggest irk for me is the cables adding to the overall size, but your new iPod LO to USB on the last page is pure win and exactly the sort of thing that's needed. Just need something equally low profile for the CLAS to amp cable!

you want something more low profile than that interconnect?

with the rig here to work with maybe

Somnambulist, I also don't see how the IC can be lower profile. It's a shortened Neutrik right-angle plug that angles inwards between the Classic and Solo to connect with the Pico Slim.

Heh, I was looking more at jkwanness's pics when I said that, I didn't spot how short yours was already though. That looks pretty perfect!

Cool. Of course, Jeremy gets 100% of the credit for the engineering and execution but I did contribute to the design dimensions - all of which was calculated before my Pico Slim had even arrived. I would say that we pegged it.
