I haven't posted here in awhile, but I remember awhile back there was a problem with counterfit cx300's on ebay. I am looking to purchase them, they seem to go for 10$ .. Is there anything besides checking feedback, to assure they are real? (the phones not the seller). Any tell tale signs?

Tell tale sign? They are $10 of course they are fake :O)

I bought a pair and find they sound great. I didn't know at the time they were fakes because they came in convincing packaging.

yeah those look fake to me, cx300s are faked alot on ebay, try headroom or audiocube or something, cx300s aren't terribly expensive compared to other IEMs

That is what the packaging should look like. I would not recommend ebay for buying CX300s; I have personally gotten screwed over.

I bought a fake CX300 from amazon.com awhile ago. While it sounds okay (my EP630 sound much better), but it made a crackle sound (right channel) when inserted. If you want to buy EP630 or CX300 i suggest go for retail market like Newegg, etc.

Isn't this the older box?
I bought a CX300 from amazon (not from a seller using amazon) and my box looks like the white one.

Still, for $10, I think the white ones are most likely fake.

It could be a driver made in the same factory as the CX300, just as the EP-630 has the same manufacturer as the CX300. However, it's definitely not the exact same driver for that price, and the statement is likely just BS.

Has anyone gotten a genuine cx300 from ebay, and perhaps can reccomend a seller? You pay 100$+ in canadian retailers.
