They sound duff to me, but I haven't heard the original. Isn't there a visual tell tale way of seeing they are fake??

Hm, if it was cheap and came without original packaging it's probably a fake. Many scratches hint that they are fakes too. And you can take em apart and compare them to the photos posted already.

honestly though, if you buy them knowing they are fakes, is it a decent deal? I mean they still are trick looking ear buds (not personally a fan of buds) that are made of some aluminum right?

seems some say they sound the same as the real ones, i.e. good, but others say they suck. i guess you just have to drop the ~$25 or so to buy them (shipped) to you door.

Yes, but there is the chance that you will never see them (at least for me) because they may be caught at the border. Fakes are... well... illegal.

Some also say they break easily...
