I was looking online and noticed that HD 650 prices vary from the low $300's to $499.  That's quite a spread and I'm wondering if there are any issues buying from the lower priced establishments.  Please share your experiences, if any.  TIA

Yeah, the prices on Amazon fluctuate almost daily. It's really weird. Regardless of price, just make sure you're buying from an authorized dealer. And yeah, you have got to nab it as soon as you see it in the low $300s, or else the next time you refresh, they'll be back to $499.

Thanks everyone.  Today's Amazon price is $343.49 + 7.99 shipping.  The source is Big Edge which appears to be a sporting goods merchant.  I visited their website and could not find any references made to a Sennheiser headphone.  I wonder if it's okay to get them from there.

If you are not in a terrible rush, I highly recommend thomann.de Just received my pair BNIB from them. Shipping to the East Coast US took two weeks. Price was $322 shipped.

Bump!

I started saving for the HD650 at summer. The price was then 245€ at Thomann. Now I could finally afford them, but the price has gone up to 285€. Is it likely that the price will come back to 245€ after christmas?

Ditto on J&R recommendation. In my experience, their customer reps are pretty receptive to negotiating a price. I got mine for $300 in the recent newegg pre-black friday sale. I heard some folks got it for $255 through music123 by getting a 15% off pricematch from the $300 sale price. These ridiculously low sales come once in a full moon, and I think $320 via J&R is well worth it, and will save you headache and time lost searching for lowest deal.

You could always go with a "B-stock" at Dakmart for $285... if you're willing to wait 3 months for it to process at least

  Best bet is with J&R.

If you look them up on ebay, there's one dealer who has listed a few pairs at 328 and some at 499. There's no apparent difference between them, not from the descriptions provided. I'm wondering what's the deal... are there model variations that would justify such a price difference?

I gather that 328 is pretty much as good as it gets so there's no big chance of after-christmas price drops to levels even lower than that?
