Yea, sony house sound is definetly unique, n many ppl like it, but it can be possible to mod so tinkering with the hardware could be interisting. I think dx220max could compete with sp2k in SQ tho(n it could be modded too), n for the price it is a steal, tho i havent tried sp2k, bcs how expensive it is.

The website is under construction then I cannot provide all information but I can give you the configuration, it is not the case when use put more, more driver into a small shell :
- Sonion Dual Electrostatic Twetter.
- 1 BA mid, 1 BA high mid.
- Dual BA for bass.
- Internal Wire
- High quality(capacitor, resistor)

For modding DAP, I think it will be interesting.
I have experience with DX200, DX220. For power output, I think DX220 Max is a beast. But micro detail, sound stage and precision of sound it might be inferior.

i owned double duet and still own dream duet. finally i sold my double and just keep dream duet.
compared to elite 19 (dhc), yatano 4, dream duet has thinner vocal.
yatano 4 is the more balanced one, elite19 is in between, more vocal

There are no information however from the outer cable size it is the same.
The material is totally different:
- Duet and Double Duet: silver-gold alloy
- Dream Duet: mono crystal silver.

To summaries, for quality of conductor like: cleaness, tone/timber, siltech and Crystal is ahead much.

Brimar cable provide two thing: dynamic + warmth, so they are so different other than other brand.

You have to build new IEM, replace is impossible !

There are some picture, very stiff, it is insane though but I have to do to know what limit is still out there

I went back and checked for any signs of the 8-wire DD back in 2018 and found these pictures posted by Crystal Cable's distributor in Taiwan:



They did mention back then that they won't be able to take any pre-orders until Crystal Cable officially announced it, which never happened so I guess only these demo cables exist in the wild.
