Hey,
 
so lately I've been listening with my Marantz 2230B, and recently there has been some crackling in both channels. 
 
What I want to know is this just a result of the receiver lying in the attic for 33 years, or something else?

Unfortunately, the manual is long gone.  Also, I haven't looked inside yet.
What I'm thinking of doing is getting a can of compressed air, and then cleaning every nook and cranny I find.

Amps 30 years old need some tender care now and again,as suggested above pay a visit to AK and get some Deoxit.
