Can this be accomplished without much difficulty? I want to be able to run my HD580s straight into my ibasso without an adapter.

It's not very difficult, have you soldered before? If not, practice on some cheap earbuds first. The How to Make An Interconnect will give you a few pointers. It is one of the stickies on top of the DIY page.

Honestly, I seriously doubt you will hear a difference between having the adapter and not, seriously. If you want the convenience, it shouldn't be hard.

Can you look at the wiring that is in place and connect the new connector the same way?
