Is it possible to connect a DS which has only a 3.5mm audi jack to the Fiio e9k/e17   or do i have to use the e17 standalone?

I use a Dt 880 ( 600 ohm).

Get a RCA to jack and connect it through line-in

Sry, but i am not sure which cables i need to buy and how to connect then. Could you explain it to me a little more in detail^^.

Also, If i connect it trough line in, is not the e17 bypassed since i am not using any  connections on that, if you know what i mean.

Yes, the e17 is bypassed. It will always be when you use a jack.

So, i plug those in my e9k Line out.

I need also this cable http://cdn.head-fi.org/c/c4/c41bbe46_d_2009-10-14-13-7-16f_3_5mm-audio-extender-male-to-male-1.jpg , which i plug on the RCA Jack and finally in my Ds.

Is that correct?

Or something like that. You plug it in the line-in, not out.

Alright, thank you.

Now, i hooked up my e17 + Dt 880 ( 600 ohm) with my PSP and they got pretty loud.

I am curious if it would be better to use the e17 since it is an DAC and may be better than the PSP/DS DAC?
What do you guys think?
If it gets loud enough, there should not be reason to hook it up to the e9k and buy an additional cable or?

How did you connect the DS to the e17?

To be honest i have no Ds, I ordered one which should arrive by tmorrow.

But either way, the Headphone Jack on the PSP/DS is identical.

I just connected my e17 with the PSP via a 3.5mm audio cable Male/Male.
