Coltrane, Mingus, Monk or Davis?

It was between Miles and Mingus.
I picked Miles because I am more attached to his albums than Mingus'.

Nice thread, but it's missing some seminal figures.....
 
These include:
 
Charlie Parker
Dizzy Gillespie
Louis Armstrong
Duke Ellington
 
and many others........
 
of the 4 Mingus is my favorite, followed by Coltrane, followed by Monk, followed by Davis..........
 
some more minor figures who deserve a mention amongst the 4 mentioned would be:
 
Sonny Rollins
Eric Dolphy
Bud Powell

Sonny Rollins is a close 3rd in the sax world to Bird and Trane...
