You guys cracked me up.. thanks for that 🤣

I'm definitely temped with both of you guys there, Danny, and all the other great folks. If my wife doesn't look at me askance, I might just slip home and join you...

Do it! And feel free to bring the wife!

That would be the best Christmas present ever!

Looks super interesting - would def like to hear it! I’ll bring a few 6SN7s if you want to try your amp with some different options…

I would like to attend if it is not too late. Time to refresh my gear after a long hiatus so this is an excellent opportunity to meet new gear and people. All I have right now is a first gen Schiit Mjolnir and Gungnir which will probably still be in storage or transit by the time of the meet so won't be able to bring anything.

Due to weather, coming from Colorado Springs, and a car that doesn't do well in the snow I cannot make a hard commitment so I will pass on the dinner and lunch. The lunch sound great though.

We've got room for you! I'll add you to the list. Hope you can make it.

Hi Colorado Head-Fi'ers! I made a dinner reservation about a month ago at Guard & Grace (same place as last time), but since it's the season for company holiday parties, the earliest I could do was 8:15pm. I have been checking, and will continue to check, to see if there's been a cancellation and I can move it to 7ish, but the restaurant did not seem optimistic about that. I would love your thoughts on whether we should:
  • Keep the 8:15 reservation & meet ending time (6pm) as-is?
  • Keep the 8:15 reservation but extend the meet end time to 7pm?
  • Keep the 6pm meet end time and instead do dinner at 7pm somewhere more casual nearby like Yardhouse or a good Vietnamese place?
Thanks!

Based on how things are shaping up that day, I think I'll skip dinner, but am still interested in being around for lunch.

I’m cool with any of the options to be honest. Not picky at all brother!

No strong preference on the timing options above. It seems it would make sense if dinner is going to be later to go ahead and extend the meet time up closer to dinner to have something to do in between, but this is my first meetup, so I may have no idea what I’m talking about. Any dinner time or place is fine with me…

In other news, I just got the shipping notification for my Tungsten DS, and assuming no nasty surprises, I will plan to bring it!

I’m thinking I will bring Tungsten, Project Omega, Celestee, and Atrium. I will also plan to bring WA22 and V222 amps (still debating whether to bring WA2). Qutest and Ares + Iris 12th for DACs. Will probably also bring Tube Mini w/ base. If there is anything else in my sig people would like to hear, let me know. Likewise, if anything in the list above seems extraneous, let me know and I’ll plan to leave it at home.

Really looking forward to this!

This is going to be an epic meet. Can't wait!

That's how I'm leaning, I think. Waiting for more people to weigh in. And I'll call Danny and make sure he's ok with that. And @Makiah S since he'll be on Eastern time.

Update: after 7 months of waiting, my Audio Technica AWKG headphones arrived yesterday. I know @eruilluvitar brought his pair last time, but I'm not sure if he's planning to come to this meet. If not, I can bring them if anyone's interested.

I also will be able to bring the Solitaire P. I had sold them, but they're back now.

Dang, I might have to bring 3 boxes again...

I'll be staying overnight, so I would be fine with keeping the reservation. Extending the meet might also give a little extra time to pack up at the end. IMO

Awesome! Please do bring them. @eruilluvitar can't make it this time, unfortunately. However, some select pieces of his kit might still make an appearance. Stay tuned.

The last Denver meet was the first headphone meet I attended in a very long time. If anyone else is in a similar situation, here is my advice:

1. Bring your own music. Be it your phone, laptop, or DAP, it's always best to have your own tunes with you.

2. Bring a connector that plugs into your music source and has a USB-B output (the kind you use for printers, etc.). If the setup has a USB DAC, you should be able to plug right into it with that connector. Not all DACs at the meet will be DSD-capable, so make sure you have some PCM music with you as well

3. When packing your gear for travel, I'd recommend bringing some towels. Not only do they help protect your gear in transit, but they offer a great resting place for your headphones during the meet.

4. Don't be afraid to travel to other rooms at the meet. Last time, the main room got the bulk of the action, but there were two other rooms that had some excellent gear. You can move headphones between the rooms as well, though you should ask the owner first if they are there.

5. Most of my headphones are a little unusual, so I tried to label my headphones at the meet. If you're using aftermarket pads or cables, it's good to point that out as well.

6. This goes without saying, but show respect to all the gear at the meet. Keep your hands clean and handle the headphones with care. If other people are waiting to try out a station, allow them the chance to try it out.

Great tips for a future first-timer! Thanks!
