Hey guys,

In the upcoming vacation (next week for me

) i want to do a little project.
And because i now dislike the sound of my Creative Zen Vision stock (got spoiled at a meet with a Tomahawk) i thought what the heck, let the Cmoy building begin!

I've heard quite a lot about the Cmoy, and i guess its a nice start.

While searching info on it i made myself a nice layout, with the components i want to use.

This is the stuff i am going to buy (unless you guys say not to).

Code:

Code:
[left]WELWYN RC55C-10K0DIRESISTOR, 0.25W 0.5% 10K Ohm MULTICOMP MF25 4K7RESISTOR, 0.25W 1% 4.7K Ohm (also used for controlling gain) WELWYN RC55C-100KDIRESISTOR, 0.25W 0.5% 100K WIMA 10602824118820TCAPACITOR, 2824 0.47UF 63V (block) (on Pic 40V!) NICHICON UHD1C471MPD6CAPACITOR, 470UF 16V[/left]

Some opamps: (to play around with them)
OPA2132PA
TLE2082CPE4
TLE2142CP
OP275GPZ

The amp is going to run from either 4 NiMh's, or a single 9V rechargable.
I probably will be printing the PCB myself (the laserjet trick) later on.

But i've run into troubles, i cannot indentify a single channel Pot from an dual channel Pot!

I've seen two, but they both look kinda strange, one has 7 pins, the other looks like it got only 5. While the layout i made teaches me that i need 6 pins.

(yea i know its dutch, but the important things are in english anyway)

Can i use any of these ?
[EDIT: i figured out that the 5 pin should work just nicely]

Then i still have a question: is the layout (and the selection of components) okay?

[edit] a little mistake i made on the drawing, the on/off switch has 10k Ohm on it, that should be on the Pot ofcourse)

Either one of them may work... the key question from viewing the datasheets is what Alps part numbers these are? The 7 pin one has 1 dummy pin. The 5 pin one has the grounds connected, therefore only 5 pins. Many different configurations... the 7 pin item appears to be either the RK14K12B or the RK14K122. The 12B would be the one you want. I didn't go thru the other datasheet enough to figure out which ones this might be.

There are some other Alps units (the green plastic bodied ones) that are part of the RK097 series like the one that Tangent sells with the built in switch. However, they again do not have enough technical info on their site to tell exactly what one is getting...
