Working Clothes: Carhartt's or Dickies?

Can't go wrong with either.

I prefer Dickies because it's more cost-effective (i.e CHEAPER) than Carhartt.

I work in shorts and a tee-shirt at home in front my computer...so I'll say neither.

Anyone know if Dickies are made in the USA? I know some of the Carhartt's are Union Made here in the USA. Most of Carhartts are made over seas.

I don't wear either, but I generally observe people wearing Carhartt gear offshore. Carhartt has a little more perceived cachet, but I am not aware if one or the other is more durable/a better value, etc.

What do you do for a living?

I work at an ACE Hardware store. I know its nothing Heavy Duty working at ACE, but I would like durability, comfort & cost effectiveness. Most of the workers clothes I see from employees & customers is mainly Carhartts, but Dickies do seem to be abit cheeper at stores.

Yes, Red Wing boots are on my list of boots to get.

I've noticed lately in the last few years, I tend to buy Longterm brand names. I say that cause Red Wing, AFAIK, is the first boot manufacture in the USA.

I think Carhartts has been around longer than Dickies.

Good choice. Your feet will thank you in the long run. They're durable as heck, and one of the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. PLUS, you can take them to Red Wing dealers for free oiling and shoe laces!
