OK fellas, please help out, I need closed cans for my Zune 120,
it's un-amped.. Which phones work and sound well on the Zune.
I listen to lots of different styles of music so I guess they'll have to be fairly allround and efficient.

Cheers,

Dennis.

No doubt, Senn HD-25-1 - sounds GREAT out of a Zune.

Sorry to jump in on the thread, but I have the same question. I have a pair of Grado SR-80's and Shure E2C's, but I'd like a closed-back pair of fullsize cans to use with my iPhone on long trips and such. The E2Cs aren't as comfortable and the SR-80's make everyone else listen to my music. I'm just looking for good quality (obviously limited by the iPhone), fairly attractive, and something around $100, maybe up to $150 if there's compelling reason.

I second this opinion. The 780's sound great unamped from my Zune80.

BluesDaddy's suggestion of the HD25-1 is a good one also, but the 780 is a notch above in SQ, even with recabling options on HD25.

Grado is a stock and a good answer.

Not closed, though, unfortunately.

If there is no budget and no fear of losing them, you could go for the edition 9

. Sounds great out of an ipod (I suppose zune should be about the same) and can go to dangerously loud level without amp, aren't really big and they isolate well.
