I need a $150 or under pair of headphones. It's going to be paired with a Xonar DX at home and a Xonar DG at my parents' house. I also need good isolation since pc is in same room as the air conditioner at my house; therefore, open and semi-open/closed is a no-go (I think).

Primary use (80% of the time) will be for gaming: Recent FPS usually (i.e. Battlefield 3, CS:GO), Skyrim.

Other use (20% of the time) is for variety of music. I think most of my music is alternative rock, some pop, and jazz.

I'm currently considering the Audio Technica A700, but i'm reading conflicting reports on it. Apparently it is good for music but is not good for gaming?

also thinking about Shure SRH840. I like that it has a replaceable cord. Useful since I ran over quite a few headphones already

Sell off your Xonar DX and get the DGX (better headphone support).
For headphones, the KRK KNS 6400
