i couldnt believe my eyes, an unopened portapro 2 sitting on the shelf of a local circuit city. for $16.99 the portapro2 was an exceptional bargain and the rarity of such a find led me to forget that i'm one more quarter away from graduating because of a 1 unit surveying lab. cheers to all those who are also taken away by an unexpected rare find.

Cool. Seeing a PX 100 at a best buy recently made my day.

In my area, meither Circuit City or Best Buy has any really good headphones. Best Buy has those cruddy Bose ones but otherwise their "top of the line" is a set of Sony "DJ" headphones. Best "phones I've seen at Circuit City were Sennheiser PX-100. I did see a set of higher end Sennheisers at BB about 3 years ago but at the time, it was out of my price range and had disappeared by the time I got enough money to buy it. You'd think they'd carry more good headphones at a HUGE chain like Best Buy or Circuit City.

I bought my PP2 for $30.00 at a CC in Tampa FL. I hear they are blowing out inventory in preparation for a management takeover or bankruptcy. CC is going down

We need stores like CC etc. to keep Best Buy on their feet. Too bad...

I've actually been suprised by what I've seen at Best Buy and Future Shop (Canadian electronics big box store)...anyway, E3C's at future shop for 249.99, E2C's at best buy for 129.99 (possibly 149.99) and the PX100 (although it was the white version...)

Covina, CA
at the eastland shopping center.
this particular cc stocks the regular and all-white px100's, px200's, sony v600's, and one ksc75 (still there). afaik having the portapro2 in stock was something of a fluke, i'm still wondering how they got there as they were unopened and discontinued from ??-years ago. it definatley made my day, although looking further into the design i can see that it is basically the exact same driver as the ksc35 with the same plastic housing. i thought they might have made the portapro's with a more open back... so much for them competing with my resistor modded & recabled 35's...
