no problem with my access points either
The most important is, you like it yourself. The same with cars, do you drive the Bently or the bugatti… I choose Bently smooth and comfortMaybe you can make an argument that off the shelf DAC chips are “transparent “ but a DAC as an audio component will not necessarily sound the same across brands. The DSP/Filter will make a difference. That’s literally Rob’s life’s work.
Power supply filtering, digital filtering, implementation of source signal, and a multitude of other factors contribute to DAC “sound “. It’s not snake oil. It’s not poor engineering if a DAC doesn’t have a SINAD of 120+.
“Audiophile” is a huge umbrella that contains the ludicrous to the basic. It’s actually a useless term. There is no better or worse when comparing two people's audio journeys. It’s about being happy with your gear regardless of price tag. Not sure if you were serious or trolling.
For me, the Mojo2 is the best value to sound Chord DAC and I have no desire to “upgrade “. I have much more expensive DACs that sound different and “better” in the system they reside. They aren’t better due to cost, but the synergy with the associated components.
YMMV and IMHO
Absolutely. I'd probably choose a Nissan GT-R...but it would probably kill me.The most important is, you like it yourself. The same with cars, do you drive the Bently or the bugatti… I choose Bently smooth and comfort![]()
Highly unlikely. That would mean retooling and redesigning the Mojo2 case for zero sonic improvements. That is not Rob’s style. Nor does it make financial sense for Chord. Retooling costs are not insignificant. In the comments section of the recent video review of the Mojo 2 from Zeos on YouTube, someone said the following,
"During CanJam Singapore last month, Mr. Robert Watts himself informed me that a newer version of the Mojo is planned for release around the end of the year, possibly with the name Mojo 2.1.It will have a 4.4mm output (but unfortunately, not fully balanced)."
@Rob Watts Any truth to this?

It’s doubtful you can fit a pentaconn (Sony proprietary so more cost) jack in the current Mojo2 case.
Not everyone likes using adapters. I try to avoid them if possible.I don't really see the point if it's not a real balanced circuit. Just use an adapter... Now a complete redesign with USB-C power and a differential balanced circuit would be tempting, but then there would need to be a new Poly as well...
I agree regarding sonic improvements, but it seems the great majority (for good or not) has moved onto balanced, I myself have reluctantly had to capitulate due to so many devices offering more power over balanced out, all Chord would need to do is update 'one' of the outputs to 4.4mm, as it already had two outputs this would be a really good idea as then it could support 3.5mm and 4.4mm with a very minor retooling, for example JDS Labs on the Element IV they have now offered 4.4mm jack on the amp if you request it.Highly unlikely.
