I don't know why , my friend cable work without any problem

iPhone 5s >> lightning to micro USB >> Chord Hugo

How to play music with this cable :

I connect my iPhones 5 s with this cable to Hugo , than I turn my Hugo on
And play music, that's works very good

If you first turn your Hugo On , it can not lock

I have a feeling that inside the yellow heatshrink'd area that connects to the iPhone, there is one of these:
 
... Connected to the phone, with a Micro USB to Micro USB cable attached.
Not sure if this is correct, only your friend would know, but I can't see any other way of it working (if the adaptor above even works for this purpose).

Clearly the DIYer embedded the CCK chip in that mini cable to make it work. But Apple is very tightass about it so you cant do it commercially

I have female micro USB to lightning adapter like your picture above

I have tried

This female micro USB to lightning >> micro USB To micro USB
Between My iPhone 5 S and Hugo :

It doesnt work

On another note, carried my Hugo around today for fun and found myself babying it a lot. Guess it's time to get a case.

Considered getting a normal pouch for it, but would like access to the controls and lights easily. So I'm either waiting on the official black leather case, or going to a leather atelier to get one done
