I leave mine on all the time unless it is a hot day or charging it from red.Happy Saturday everyone! I’m curious, how many folks here utilize desktop mode exclusively and how do you use your unit? Do you leave it on 24/7 to maintain that 80%, or turn it on and off as necessary? I tried (not fully in desktop mode) to listen while it was charging and the unit got pretty warm, but nothing alarming. Thanks in advance!
Copy that, thank you sir!I leave mine on all the time unless it is a hot day or charging it from red.
For battery life, see my older post:

Understood, I appreciate your feedback!I do that with my Hugo 2, other than a tad warmish feel I haven't noticed anything crazy, since the mode was designed for those like me in mind I'd say you should be good. If you feel "battery paranoia" I'd say that you can rest easy, the batteries in Hugo 2 are very reliable from what I've read/heard.
I used in desktop mode all the time and it got slightly warm but hot after 8 hours straight. If charging and playing and in an unventilated area I've had its thermal switch shut it off.Happy Saturday everyone! Copy that, I think regardless of what anyone says charging and using (assuming it’s not at the 80% already in DT mode and power, etc) is not going to be as thermal friendly as just using battery power and recharging on red for the most part. Either way, I love the unit and it’s awesome to take the whole setup around the house and enjoy some great music!I used in desktop mode all the time and it got slightly warm but hot after 8 hours straight. Recently ordered one myself.Wow. Take my money already, Chord!
I had an issue with the jacks on my H1 loosening and had to send it for repair of the jack. Since then I would loosen the pedals on the rca plugs when using my H2 to avoid them being too tight and to afford some give if I bumped them.Hey everyone I have a question about RCA socket's sturdiness, I just got an external amp to play with my H2 and got some monoprice RCA cables for it. I've used some other cables on my H2 before, and usually, they go in smoothly, these go in tightly. To the point that I had to put some muscle on it for them to budge in. How concerning it is in the long run? Considering that I may disconnect them from time to time to use the internal output stage of my H2?
That’s fair, i’ll see if i can make the rca looser somehow rather f-up a cable than a 2.5k+ dac.I had an issue with the jacks on my H1 loosening and had to send it for repair of the jack. Just be careful. Too loose resulted in interference or a short to ground noise. That’s fair, i’ll see if i can make the rca looser somehow rather f-up a cable than a 2.5k+ dac.
