When transportable with h2 I enjoy iem’s for convenience. With my iems the best synergy are the Legend X. I’m a bass lover though. It can drive the headphones with lots of headroom. That is how I used it before the TT2 when I was using an mscaler.

The wifi of the ipod was important to me. The weather is warming and I want to use out by the pool.

I miss my Hugo 2, I also had that case and it really was a boss setup, it was faultless and I regret selling it. Your pic’s reminded me of how cool it was.

I’m in the market for new toys again, but I will wait until the TT2 situation is over with before I start spending monies.

Quick question:
Using Tidal -> Roon with the Hugo2.
Under device settings, re: MQA do I use 'no MQA support' or 'renderer only'

Received the unit today.

Initial impressions connected to the 2Go are high. Crystal clear ; absolutely no background noise (it's dead silent). Bright neutral although the Green high frequency roll off filter takes the bright treble peak out of the HD800S and Empy's quite well. Subtle, but noticeable. And mostly an improvement although I'm undecided about the warmer filter and higher cross-feed settings.

Plenty of control with HD800S and Empyrean. Drives both very well. Pairs better with the Empy. The transparency, detail and soundstage synergise with the Empyrean weaknesses.

I wouldn't bother with Susvara or LCD-4. No need to select a 'high gain' setting. The default (and only) is just perfect.

The low cross-feed setting lends itself to a more relaxed sound ; whereas with filter on incisive neutral and no cross-feed the it's very analytical, detail orientated. I love how easy it is to switch filter/settings depending on the track and headphone. Similar to a sound desk, intuitively select what feels best. The filters do subtly take some clarity out of the sound though.

Tend not to prefer upsampling in Roon. The artificial synthesis to my ears is noticeable and I find mostly distracting.

2Go setup app is buggy and slow. Took a while to connect and some menu jiggling (with bluetooth) for it to be recognised. iOS won't let me add a network manually (submit button doesn't work) and had to download android GoFigure app on my m11 Pro to set up!

Couldn't locate my wifi-network so had to change the channel and Mhz set-up on my wifi router before I could get it to work. Once I did, absolutely perfect. My MBP connects at 5Ghz and the router connects to the 2Go on 2.4Ghz so no bandwidth issues.

Looks good. I recently did the same with an iPod Touch. That gives me roon as well plus excellent wifi chip.

I am considering going down the path with the purchase of an iPod Touch to work with my Mojo, and my soon to arrive Hugo 2. Are you still happy with the Touch? It is interesting that not many people talk about it as a DAP, but it seems to me, from a streaming services standpoint, it is a great price point option? 95% of my listening is via streaming services so that is my use case. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I have been using it daily with the H2. The wifi is so much better than my SP1000 dap. I have it loaded with roon, Tidal and Qobuz which all play bit perfect usb to the H2. The only negative is that I get some notifications and reminders which I will probably turn off. I don’t have any local files but if I had ordered with extra memory that would be possible. It is a very cost effective 2GO repkacement.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was thinking. I just sold my Poly as it was not really working for me, and I returned an AK SR25 which I found incredibly frustrating. I would prefer a serrate device from my phone, and think this would just be perfect and a price that does not break the bank with a screen I can read and Apps that will be supported. Thanks for the feedback, I think this is the route I am going to go down. R/Glenn

So it seems like we're overdue for an update. I'm assuming the pandemic plays a part in this but I'll just wait for the new products that they will announce this year.

It does appear that there is at least one Rob Watts item that is in production. Just no telling what, but my guess is an updated Mojo or a device that sits between the old Mojo and the Hugo2... Hopefully we will know soon.

I don’t know. I wouldn’t use the Hugo 1 to Hugo 2 release times as a present indicator of when to expect a Hugo 3. I fully expect there will be a Hugo 3 and I’ll be right there. However, there’s been news “in the wind” of different products that Rob Watts is working on for Chord, none of them verified.

In the meanwhile, we know that the 2Yu was finished and supposed to be released over a year ago. It’s now listed by Moon Audio as “expected” in May, but, you know, c’mon.

I’m fully sympathetic to the situation with COVID, but I’m also so glad I decided early on not to wait and went a different direction for a server.

The Hugo2 is just such an amazing product. I have a Chord Dave system (with Sean Jacobs PS) that is so many multiples the cost and the little 2Go/H2 combo still surprises and delights me.
