I just rounded it up to UK £1700 (for shipping)... cdn$2863...same as our prices here in Canada... Am i missing something...or doing something wrong?

You are right, CAD $2863 = £1700 GBP at today's rates.

The hike in price from £1400 for the H1 to £1800 for H2 may be a step too far for many especially when all the hype dies down.

When people realise that it is more on the transportable side of portable and it is more likely to be used as a desktop solution.

But if it is really good in a full speaker system then it might do better than expected.

I am contemplating retiring my Mojo in favor of the Hugo 2 but has anyone listened to the Hugo 2/KSE1500 pairing and could provide some insights into the synergy. Thank you in advance.

i want to buy one killer end game headphone and not think about it again. something that lasts for years. to make a nice companion for H2. auditioning is so difficult. comfort is paramount as is bass response.:L3000:

You're making a case for the Nighthawks here... Comfort and Bass response is really awesome. And maybe you prefere those to other TOTL phones...
For now I can only speak about the pairing with Mojo, but I imagine they scale great with H2... Rob seems to like them as well...

I myself am eagerly waiting for more detailed reports of Nighthawks and H2, since I sold my car today I could have H2 by the end of this week... :L3000:

This is indeed serious overkill.

Could you please try to compare "SP1000" vs "SP1000 + HUGO2" vs "SP1000 + ALO CDM" vs "SP1000 + HUGO2 + ALO CDM" ? sometime....more is not better

After a few nights of exclusively using the LCDi4 with the Hugo 2, I decided to plug in my Sony Z1Rs into this. All I can say is: "I am impressed". Guys, this thing is so seriously good, I am considering this a TOTL desktop setup (all-in one) that you can take with you as a portable unit. Seriously, this thing is right there with my other setups with these full sized headphones!

Do you feel the Hugo 2 and Z1R's are a good match? Thanks for any other impressions you have with that combo!

Thanks to all. the sony's would worry me being closed back. i don't need isolation but crave expansive 3 dimensional soundscapes in dimly lit rooms during the twilight hours. maybe i'm wrong here will have to study further. the nighthawks would be a great price but some say they are too warm? what about nighthawk carbons? can i trust audioquest fully as the cost of some of their high end cables makes me dubious. i have a £30 forest for H2.

listening to sting/eric clapton it's probably me.

The price hike is reflected into the new features, more taps, remote control, DSD512 native that makes it future proof, just to name only few.
Judging by how good Hugo 2 sounds versus the previous at the asking price, this is an audiophile barging IMHO.
Soon when you can listen to it you may agree with me.
One more thing: the weight of Hugo 2 is same as Hugo 450 gr.
Portable or transportable i am sure that is not an issue for anyone who demands very high quality sound reproduction at home or on the go.
