hey guys that upgraded the power for Dave... may want to try the puritan with them... seems like it makes a big difference on the DAC... im ordering one

I've the 3 versions with DC filter, for 3 different locations.
How much it helps depend on your mains pollution/situation Steve Huff said, this sounds logical.
Internet over powerlines adapters does not work at all after the Puritans, which indicate that stripping the mains wave from superimposed signals was successful.

you can't listen to the ASR guys at all... they are like the Jim Cramers of audio... do the opposite

I have the opportunity to buy a reasonably priced Dave, which is 2 years and 4 months old, for € 4500.
My concern is though, albeit the Dave being a great piece of audiophile electronics, its design is coming of age slowly.
The design is nearing it's 8th year, which is substantial in "electronic years".
What is your take on buying such a relatively "old" design especially that in the light of the $5000 range there are quite a few nice Dacs already (Holo Audio, Rockna)?
And I am convinced that within the next two years we can expect major electronic improvements in other Dac designs.
That seems to be about €2000 below average selling price.

I hope the seller isn't reading this thread!

Seriously though, even if in the worst case you had to pay Chord to replace the whole mainboard you could probably still sell it for a profit if you hated the sound.

I say: if you have the money, go for it.

Please let us know if this was a genuine sale at a price way under the norm?

Did you demo and purchase ?

If you now have it are you pleased with the sound ?

I have heard rumors of “one eared” Daves going for about $5k. So $4500 reasonable for a “one eared” Dave

I heard rumours that the new SuperScaler would be launched in 2023, but........

You can hear a rumour, but if you can't see it, it almost certainly is one. :)

I emailed the seller but he has not responded yet. I also looked at his history, he has signed up with this website only recently and has no buyer/seller history.
So indeed a bit suspicious. It's still on the German market site "audiomarkt.de".

Ah I see.

Hopefully you get to see the dac and hear it in situ.

Perhaps it is a completely genuine sale from somebody who needs quick cash....................its so hard to know sometimes isnt it ?

Good luck to you whatever you decide..................................would like to hear what ultimately happens.
