The behaviour is somewhat like people who run their key down the side of a car they will never be able to afford. Jealousy is a cruel and bitter mistress.Exactly.
This whole debate is so inane.
In every other sphere of life, it's perfectly acceptable behavior for a person to choose one thing over another because they prefer it. That's how the entire economy works.
Except apparently audio gear, where for some reason, your purchasing what you prefer offends someone else lol.
I'm pretty sure at the end of the day it all comes down to some people being envious they can't hear what you hear and thus their only recourse is to say you're not hearing it.

You’ve got two ears, I suggest you use them.Would be nice if someone could do the Real objective listening test which is not allowed to be mention on headfi and share the results. (Mojo2 Vs Dave)
@GoldenOne Can you also do the same test on Mojo2? I suspect it can do about -300dB as well.
I think the Mojo 2 is deliberately tuned the way it is to make use of the onboard EQ. This way you can tune it to taste. I enjoy my Mojo 2, but it's not on my Dave's level when it comes to performance. I think the Dave sounds better than most upper tier DAC's I've heard. The Dave fits my sound preferences better I should say.The DAVE sounds nothing like the Mojo 2. Surprisingly, I’ve found the tonality of the Mojo 2 to be polarizing and it’s the first DAC from Chord that I have not liked.

That's exactly right, you have some "objectivists" that want to shame others for their preferences, it's really ridiculous actually, if you love steak and I love lobster, it's preference and I don't need some nut job to try to measure the compounds of the steak and the lobster and tell me what I should like. No thank you, the real reason there is so much hate against Rob Watts and his approach is because he's different, his approach is different, no one else is approaching the digital conversion to analog in the same way. Looking back at history you can find many examples of pioneers being treated this way. I say ignore the haters and enjoy your music in the way you prefer it. To @Rob Watts, keep going, I'm sure many of us are looking forward to your Ultima DAC.Exactly.

Rob Watts is an objectivist.
Really? I think you’ll find he uses measurements and his ears very much, with what he hears being the deciding factor.Rob Watts is an objectivist.

Is he now? I'll let you have your opinion, I don't agree at all of course. He is 100% an objectivist
Not based on anything I have read from him. I highly doubt he would categorise himself as one or the other. He is 100% an objectivist
He was kind of the only one really making strides on objective performance before the Chinese crowd came along. He’s DACs are objectively really good and they were miles ahead of others some years ago. I’m sure he knows he's AP measuring device in and out. He’s 100% an objectivist even before being an objectivist was a thing here on headfi.
Even he’s favorite headphones turns out to be 1 of the objectively best headphone to buy.
@Tamulamu - sorry, but from what I have read his measure of success is what he hears and not what he measures, probably because the things that are important to him are not things that I believe we have measurements for, such as transients.
I’d be fascinated to hear from @Rob Watts if he considers himself to be an objectivist but my feeling is that he would not consider himself one or the other, or perhaps both. Again, everything I have read from him would indicate that what he hears is the deciding factor in his work and that’s subjective.
I’m not sure why you want to try and pigeonhole him as an objectivist but I don’t think that’s the case. Not that it’s got anything to do with this thread of course…
