CHICAGO/MILWAUKEE JULY 11

Would anyone be able to convince Matt Engstrom, Michael Johns, or any other Shure rep to attend and bring some goodies? Niles isn't too far away.

While I think about it, Etymotic is in Elk Grove...

I am new to the Head-Fi scene and hope you don't mind if I swing by the event. I only have a set Grado 225's and a set of Sennheiser buds. I have a broken iPod so I am stuck using my Sansa clip for now.

I am looking forward to hearing some ESw9's if someone has them. Maybe some AKG 702's.

Thanks,
Nick

You can count me in. I am not sure what I will bring. Depends on the source I decide on.

Ok, bad news. I probably won't be able to buy the amp in time. If you want to hear the epicness of Floats, someone with an amp must be beside me...

Hey Ishcabible, I'm bringing a few amps long with me, so you can use one if you'd like.

Also I'm bringing along all my DIY stuff, so I can make interconnects/recables for you guys. They are obviously gonna be for sale though.

I'm actually bringing my AKG K701's along, so you are more than welcome to listen to them.

Cool, thanks!

Yeah, it'll just have to be where I am since the other amps aren't "technically "headphone amps".

Also there is a Jecklin Float at a local pawn shop for $150, should I get it if it works?

Duh! $150 is a bit high though. Bargain down for it even if it doesn't work.

Unless it's the electrostatic ones without the transformer. The transformers are pretty hard to find.

I'll have to look into it. How do they sound though? Are they anything like my current phones?

I'll probably try to get a listen in, too. I want to hear what all the hate is about.

Thanks man and the Floats seem to be pretty banged up. There are lots of little knicks in it. The shop owner won't let me try them first though... so I don't know.

I'm not sure if I'll be bringing the X-100-B though, it's like 40lbs and I'd be by myself.

So it seems that the company in Asia I was getting to do the boards has decided to screw me over. If someone knows of a company that does LGBPA chips ( micro sized as in lass than 1cm x1cm) please let me know.

I will have the amp ready and hopefully with a little dot bluetooth Dac integrated ( not as good as the planned one, still pretty decent). Big case though at 4.5 x 3 x .75 one box wireless dual mono li-ion portable solution. Would be smaller if I can get some surface mount done. Haven't gotten in my digital pot yet though.
