Just out of curiosity (aaaand maybe consideration...maybe), what are some of the cheapest DAC's with optical input? The cheapest one I know is the DAC-Ah for ~$150...just wondering if there are any cheaper ones out there worth considering?

Entech 203.2!

Got mine for $50 a little while back. Can be found on ebay and sounds amazing with it's optical input. Very simple though, with no adjustable output volume.

Oh wow, I had thought for the longest time that the Entech was a USB-only DAC.

I can't ever find any number crunchers on ebay anymore...I was able to a couple months ago but now they're all gone.

Meh.

Those were from a batch of NOS entech that some guy found in a warehouse somewhere. Nice DAC for $50 if you could get it for that price, although I suspect now that supply has gone down, the price for a mint 203 is gonna rise to perhaps ~$100 level, which is commensurate with its original price of ~$300.
