what would you say i should use as a cheap headphone amp for a new set of headphones

i was thinking of getting sf5 pros

How much are you willing to spend? You can get a cmoy, of which there are many different models whose prices can go as low as $30. Or you can, of course, make a cmoy yourself for ~$20, though you'd have to have some prior experience in building electronics. So what's you price range?

well i can spen up to around $50 on the headphone amp

Maybe get a "Caffeine" amp from PenguinAmp.com, looks pretty nice for the price. If you up your budget, see if you can snag a Mini3, they go for about $100

2nd on the Mini3. Used is about $100, but if you are able to build one yourself $60-70 is a rough estimate. The amp has a lot of value and would be worth saving up for if above a budget.
